Stella Marina

So our evening by the beach bonfire was postponed due to the wind I am assuming. Initially we were bummed but quickly decided to do the next best thing and visit our friend Anna Maria at Stella Marina. Stella Marina offers fine dining and beachy outdoor seating. Once we pleasantly surprised Anna; we were pleased to find out that she was working on the upstairs patio. We got a great table over looking the ocean and immediately started enjoying the warm bread and olive oil. While enjoying the breathtaking views we decided on the crispy calamari for appetizer and boy was it tasty! Battered lightly and delicately fried, the calamari was tender and flaky. For dinner I decided on the Fungi pizza which had Fontina cheese, portobellas, thyme and truffle oil. Anna recommended I add arugula and prosciutto to the pizza for an extra layer of flavors. The pizza was delicious and exactly what I was looking for! The crust was perfect texture and the combination of the bold cheese, earthy mushrooms, salty prosciutto and peppery arugula melded together beautifully. My boyfriend decided on the Vongole which is linguine with white clam sauce. It came out a heaping dish of pasta tossed with garlic, olive oil and fresh clams. So good! We topped off the night with a round of creamy pistachio gelato. Great way to end a delicious evening!
